Debra Messing Calls Out NBC, Her 'Professional Home,' for Treatment of Gabrielle Union

Debra Messing took to Twitter on Thanksgiving Day to call out NBC, the network that she has called her professional home for decades.

The 51-year-old actress has starred on Will & Grace on the peacock network ever since 1998. The show went off the air in 2006 and returned for a reboot in 2017.

Debra is calling out NBC for its treatment of Gabrielle Union, who was let go from her position as a judge on America’s Got Talent after she reportedly complained about a “toxic culture” behind the scenes.

“This is disgusting behavior from a network that has been my professional home for decades. Yes, women become ‘difficult,’ when their insistence on a respectful and professional working environment, is ignored. Addressing a hostile work environment is inconvenient when there is a huge money making machine that is involved. It is cowardice, greed, and protection of the status quo revealed. Being ‘hands off,’ is inexcusable and reflects a laissez faire attitude toward systemic racism and sexism,” Debra tweeted.
