K-Pop's Jung Joon-Young & Choi Jong-Hoon Sentenced to Prison for Rape
Jung Joon-Young and Choi Jong-Hoon are going to jail.
The 30-year-old South Korean singer-songwriter and the 29-year-old former F.T. Island member were sentenced to prison on Friday (November 29) for raping women who were too drunk to consent to sex, the New York Times reported.
Jung Joon-young was sentenced to six years in prison by the Seoul Central District Court, and was also convicted of making and sharing videos of the assaults.
Choi Jong-hoon was sentenced to five years.
“The accused perpetrated sexual crimes against multiple women, degrading women and treating them as mere tools of sexual pleasure. It’s hard to fathom the pain the victims must have suffered,” Judge Kang Seong-soo ruled.
Both men reportedly “broke into tears as they were escorted back to jail after the sentencing.”
