A Chorus Line might be returning to Broadway… in Spanish!

While making an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night (January 28), Pain & Glory star and Oscar nominee Antonio Banderas hinted that the acclaimed production might be on its way to New York.

Antonio opened a theater and school in his hometown of Málaga, Spain last year, called Teatro del Soho CaixaBank, and mounted the first Spanish production of A Chorus Line as the theater’s inaugural musical.

We wanted to create that feeling for the audience in Spain that they’re actually watching a show on Broadway. We do it exactly how it was done here and it may happen, actually,” Antonio, who directed the production and starred as Zach, admitted. “It may happen, actually. We’re in negotiations now to end up in New York here, doing A Chorus Line in Spanish.”

Antonio also talked about his film Pain & Glory, suffering a heart attack and the thing a nurse told him about beginning to experience feelings in a different way.
