Elijah Wood Reveals He Didn't Make It Through His 'Hot Ones' Experience

Elijah Wood stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday night (February 6) and revealed that he didn’t make it through a painful First We Feast’s Hot Ones experience.

“I didn’t. I was there to do a podcast but I’m a fan of the show, and I was like, ‘oh this is where they make that’, and I always wanted to be on it. I love spicy wings, I love hot sauce,” the 39-year-old actor told Seth. “They arranged for me to try some of the special sauces just for social. The Last Dab, if you’re familiar with the show is like the hottest one that they give them at the end.”

Elijah went on to explain that he tried some of the sauces but that he didn’t feel anything until moments after: “15 minutes later and I’m like… ‘hmm, that’s a little twinge’, and that like ramped up so fast,” he recalled. “I’ve had my appendix out and when that burst it was the most imaginable pain I’ve ever felt. I’m not gonna say this was dissimilar, it was so bad – so bad! It was a fireball in my stomach.”

Elijah Wood also told the dramatic story of how falling 15-feet through a roof helped him quit smoking, and dished about his new horror film Come to Daddy.
