Sarah Hyland is 'Staying Home' & Staying Calm During Coronavirus

Sarah Hyland is opening up about how the coronavirus pandemic is affecting her, as an immunocompromised person.

During an episode of Brad Goreski‘s podcast Brad Behavior (via People), the 29-year-old Modern Family actress reveals that as she’s had two kidney transplants, she has a higher risk than many of us.

“I am obviously immunocompromised with my transplant history and am on immunosuppressants, so everything in this house is sanitized,” she said, joking that “I just took a shot of hand sanitizer, so we’re good.”

Sarah adds, “Say someone gets a 24-hour bug, I get it for a week or more. For me, it’s really dangerous. My panic level is pretty high, but I also have a lot of health issues that are very susceptible to stress, so I’m trying to remain calm.”

Her game plan? Staying home, like the rest of us should be doing.

“My game plan right now is to stay home,” Sarah says, confirming that she’s making sure to wear gloves and a face mask when leaving the house.
