Amber Heard Says She Feared Johnny Depp Would Kill Her, Denies Drug Use Claims

Amber Heard took the witness stand for day one of her testimony in Johnny Depp‘s case against a British tabloid for calling him a “wife beater” during their marriage.

During her witness statement, Amber said she was abused by Johnny throughout their marriage and denied accusations that she used drugs.

“Johnny says I often drank more than him, and that I am a regular/heavy drug user,” Amber said. “That’s just not true, although of course I drank more than him during the brief periods when he was sober. If he was sober, then to be respectful, I would usually check with him that it was OK for me to drink wine in front of him. He would say yes and often insisted on pouring my wine,” she said.

She added, “I am not a habitual drug user. During our relationship I would say that I could count the number of times I attempted to smoke marijuana on two hands. I don’t like it.”

“I am not a personality that likes to be out of control. I did not take cocaine at all when I was with Johnny. I have taken MDMA or mushrooms a handful of times with friends.”

She continued, “I do like to drink wine, but I don’t like to get drunk. I rarely drink to an extent that would get me past what I would characterize as ‘tipsy,’” she added.

“It was in my self-interest to advocate for and to support and protect his sobriety,” she said. “To this end, I spent years trying to support him to get sober to help him and to save our relationship.”

“Frankly there was no need to lie, it was clear to everyone around him that he was doing drugs and drinking and he himself invited medical intervention to address it,” Amber added.

Amber also described the alleged abuse she faced, saying, “Some incidents were so severe that I was afraid he was going to kill me, either intentionally, or just by losing control and going too far.” She also claimed on one occasion he said, “I’m going to have to watch you get raped.” Johnny has denied all of these abuse claims.

“He would blame all his actions on a self-created third party instead of himself, which he often called ‘the monster’ He would speak about it as if it was another person or personality and not him doing all these things,” she continued. “There was an argument in a hotel room in Tokyo that resulted in Johnny kneeling on my back and hitting me on the back of the head.”

During the trial, Amber‘s former assistant made a shocking claim about her.
