Katy Perry's Black Wig for 'American Idol' Taping Is the Ultimate Throwback!

Katy Perry has gone back to her roots! Well, kind of.

The 36-year-old singer and new mom took to her Instagram on Sunday (December 13) to share a bunch of photos while sporting a black wig.

“M🖤THER,” Katy captioned the post while wearing a red, white and black zebra-print dress paired with leather gloves.

Katy’s hair stylist Rick Henry shared the photos on his Instagram account and noted that the look was for a taping of the upcoming fourth season of ABC’s American Idol. She’s also rocking makeup by Michael Anthony and she’s wearing a Cong Tri look with Gaspar gloves and Jimmy Choo boots, as styled by Tatiana Waterford.

When Katy first made it big in Hollywood she sported long, black hair. She decided to start bleaching her hair blonde just a few years ago.
