Rebel Wilson Recalls Being Held at Gunpoint, Reveals Why She Believes She Was Targeted

Rebel Wilson is opening up about her experience being kidnapped on a past vacation in Mozambique.

The Pitch Perfect actress described being held at gunpoint to Straight Talking host Ant Middleton in an episode airing on Thursday (January 14).

“It was in rural Mozambique,” she recalled in the episode, according to The Sun. “We were on this cattle truck and these men came on another truck with a lot of guns. [They pulled up beside us] with the big guns and they were like, ‘Yeah, you’ve got to get off your truck.’”

Rebel remembers being taken to a house where she and her companions were held overnight. Despite the terrifying ordeal, Rebel says overall she stayed calm: “I felt like I was very good in the crisis. I was like a team leader.”

Rebel‘s kidnappers eventually released her the next day. “They came and said, ‘Your truck is ready now. You can go, go, go,’” she recounted. “We just got back on that truck and got out of there and crossed the South African border a few hours later.”

The actress also theorized a possible reason behind being targeted: “I think maybe those guys, maybe, used us to smuggle illegal things in the bottom of the truck.”
