PEN15's Anna Kronkle & Maya Erskine Open Up About Their 'Surreal' Overlapping Pregnancies

Anna Kronkle and Maya Erskine are opening up about being pregnant at the same time!

In case you missed it, the PEN15 creators both announced that they were expecting in January of this year.

Anna shared that she had welcomed her daughter Essie Wunderle Anfanger in a profile with Vogue in May. Maya gave birth to a baby boy named Leon Frederick with her fiance Michael Angarano not long after the interview.

The pair discussed their overlapping pregnancies and the moment they introduced their babies to each other during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday (June 9).

“It actually is the best. To have a friend, a best friend, go through it at the same time,” Maya told host Jimmy Kimmel of becoming a mom.

Anna added that she and Maya had first introduced their babies to each other “a few days ago”, after they had gotten vaccinated.

“It was really special,” Anna said.

“I think they love each other,” Maya said. “I’m just gonna say it, I don’t think they were like co-existing, I think they were starting deep into each other’s eyes and truly connecting.”

“It was a lot of inappropriate grabbing of face,” Anna said, with Maya adding, “and licking.”

“We think they’re gonna grow up probably and be like, ‘Oh yeah, I’ve known Essie forever, but our parents are family friends and I really hate her. ‘ We think they’re gonna get to that point and then fall back in love,” Maya continued.
