From The Creators of 'Dark' Comes '1899' - Watch the First Teaser Trailer Now!

Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar, the creators of the hit show Dark, available to stream now on Netflix, have a brand new show coming out titled 1899!

The show is a period piece drama, and the streaming service released a first look photo and teaser trailer!

The eight episodes follow the mysterious circumstances around the voyage of an immigrant ship from Europe to New York. The passengers, all of different backgrounds and nationalities, are united by their hopes and dreams for a new century and their future abroad. When they discover a second ship adrift on the open sea that had gone missing for months, their journey takes an unexpected turn. What they find on board will turn their passage to the promised land into a nightmare-like riddle, connecting each of the passenger’s pasts through a web of secrets.

Deadline asked the creators if their new show would also involve time travel, and they responded, “We don’t repeat ourselves, we really hate that, but it’s going to be a fun puzzle for the audience. We are going back to our mystery roots,” Odar said.

“All the passengers on the ship are travelling with secrets that they don’t want to get out. It’s built like a puzzle again,” Friese continued.
