Nicole Kidman smiles at the Hemingway & Gellhorn premiere during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 25) at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

Co-stars Clive Owen and Rodrigo Santoro, as well as director Philip Kaufman, also walked the red carpet after attending a photo call earlier in the day.

“Hemingway & Gellhorn is very much for my girls [Sunday and Faith],” Nicole told USA Today. “There was a very strong desire to play that role for a new generation of young girls.”

FYI: Nicole is wearing a Ralph Lauren Collection black chiffon beaded evening dress with Boucheron jewels. Rodrigo suited up in Ermenegildo Zegna.

Garrett Hedlund stops by the Stella Artois Cannes Cinema Club during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 25) in Cannes, France.

The 27-year-old actor talked with friends for a few hours while munching on chocolate, caramel popcorn, and Bugles. He chatted about his time at the amfAR gala with girlfriend Kirsten Dunst, his days as a mascot for the Huskies at Arizona’s Horizon High, and swimming with sharks in the Bahamas.

Garrett – whose Cannes trip marked the first time he’s been to France – will be flying back to Los Angeles tomorrow to start work on his new film, Lullaby, co-starring Amy Adams and Terrence Howard.

The project was written by and will be helmed by Andrew Levitas (his directorial debut).

Robert Pattinson and co-star Juliette Binoche arrive at the Cosmopolis premiere during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 25) at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

Cast members Sarah Gadon, Paul Giamatti, Emily Hampshire, and the film’s director, David Cronenberg, also walked the red carpet after promoting the drama at a photo call earlier in the day.

The night before, the 39-year-old Indian actress donned a gold and cream-colored sari for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala.

“[Motherhood] is wonderful. You ask the question and I beam!” Aishwarya told reporters at the star-studded soiree about her 6-month-old daughter, Aaradhya.

“It’s splendid,” she added. “It’s inexplicable. The joy, the bliss, is wonderful. A smile from my daughter and that’s it! She’s good. She’s great.”

The 44-year-old actress was joined by her co-star Clive Owen, and the film’s director Philip Kaufman.

Philip recently said that Nicole approached him about a possible collaboration, before the two had worked together. “She said, ‘I want to work with you. What are you doing?’…Two days later, she called me and said, ‘I just read the script.”

The 31-year-old reality star wore a yellow Elie Saab dress to the fundraiser, where she met up with jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz.

The day before, Kim attended the Cruel Summer premiere during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival to support her boyfriend Kanye West. The couple was also spotted strolling around the city dressed all in black in the early hours of the morning that day.
