Watch Rami Malek Film the Live Aid Scene in This 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Behind-the-Scenes Clip!

The movie Bohemian Rhapsody is nominated for multiple Golden Globes tonight and director Bryan Singer is celebrating by sharing a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most iconic moments of the film.

In the clip, Rami Malek walks on stage and starts to perform the title song “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the Live Aid concert.

The scene wasn’t actually filmed in an arena, but instead was filmed in an open field with a small group of fans on the floor and a green screen behind them.

This was the first shot on the first take of the scene!

Rami Malek Brings 'Bohemian Rhapsody' To Japan!

Rami Malek gets in-between his co-stars Joe Mazzello and Gwilym Lee while posing for a photograph at their photo call and press conference for their hit film Bohemian Rhapsody held on Thursday (November 8) in Tokyo, Japan.

The biopic of legendary singer Freddie Mercury, played by Rami, and his band Queen will be released in Japan on November 9.

Joe plays John Deacon and Gwilym plays Brian May in the film.

Bohemian Rhapsody won the box office in its debut over the weekend stateside. The film earned around $50 million in its opening weekend and it’s generating a ton of Oscar buzz for Rami.

'Bohemian Rhapsody' Wins Weekend Box Office!

Rami Malek‘s Bohemian Rhapsody has won the weekend box office in its debut!

The film earned around $50 million in its opening weekend. Rami stars as Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the movie and it’s generating a ton of Oscar buzz.

Another film opened this weekend, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, and it earned $20 million at the box office for a second place debut.

Tyler Perry‘s Nobody’s Fool earned $14 million this weekend, enough for the third place spot.

Rounding out the top five movies this weekend was A Star is Born and Halloween, which earned $11.1 and $11.0 million.

Rami Malek Talks 'Immense Responsibility' Playing Freddie Mercury

Rami Malek joins his co-stars Joe Mazzello and Gwilym Lee at a screening of Bohemian Rhapsody on Friday night (October 5) at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco, Calif.

In a new featurette, Rami opens up about becoming Queen frontman Freddie Mercury for the new film.

“One of the first times I heard about this was the producer calling me on the phone and asking if I’d come to Los Angeles. He was considering me for this role of Freddie Mercury,” he said. “When you set out to play Freddie you think, ‘How am I ever going to fill those shoes?’ It’s an immense responsibility but one that I was very eager to take on.”

“You don’t want to mimic Freddie – you want to be able to understand why he did what he did,” he added.

Rami Malek Screens 'Bohemian Rhapsody' for Boston Audience

Rami Malek hits the red carpet at a screening of his new movie Bohemian Rhapsody on Monday night (October 1) at AMC Boston Common in Boston, Mass.

The 37-year-old actor was joined by his co-stars Gwilym Lee and Joseph Mazzello.

Rami takes on the role of Freddie Mercury while Gwilym plays Brian May and Joseph portrays John Deacon, three members of the legendary band Queen.

The movie will be hitting theaters on November 2. We can’t wait to see it!
