Daveed Diggs and Emmy Raver-Lampman wear matching face masks while attending the red carpet premiere of her movie aTypical Wednesday on Wednesday (June 24) at The Montalban in Hollywood.

The event was the first major movie premiere to happen following the start of the pandemic and the shutdown of movie theaters around the country.

Variety reports that the 200-person venue was limited to 60 attendees and guests had their temperatures taken and were required to wear face masks. Some celebs took off their masks while posing for photos on the carpet.

Emmy, who is in Netflix’s Umbrella Academy, stars in the movie and she was joined at the event by writer, director and co-star J. Lee. Other celebs there included Rent co-stars Taye Diggs and Tracie Thoms, as well as Speechless‘ Cedric Yarbrough.

The Umbrella Academy has announced the season two premiere date on Netflix: July 31, 2020! The announcement was made in a video from the cast, which you can check out below!

Here’s a synopsis of season one: On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. But not everything went according to plan. In their teenage years, the family fractured and the team disbanded. Now, the six surviving thirty-something members reunite upon the news of Hargreeve’s passing. Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Vanya and Number Five work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father’s death. But the estranged family once again begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.

The series stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is at opening night!

The 39-year-old Hamilton creator was in attendance for the opening night of The Wrong Man on Monday (October 7) at the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space in New York City.

Here’s a plot summary: “The wrong man meets the wrong woman in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Umbrella Academy is returning for a second season on Netflix!

Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min will all be back for the second season.

Here is what the 30-year-old The Umbrella Academy actress had to share with the mag:

On what she does in her free time: “I love to travel, traveling is my number one, just to get away and clear my mind and explore a new city and new culture, a new cuisine, new people, and new ways of living.”

On what she wants out of the rest of 2019: “Nothing would make me happier than to know that we’re going to get a second season of The Umbrella Academy and to continue my work in that show and to continue Alison’s journey and the journey of the Hargreaves family–that would be so incredible! I would love to do a movie. I think getting the opportunity to dig deep into another character, into another awesome woman that I would get to portray, that would be really fun.”

On her parents support: “I think the second that they realized how important it was to me, they stood behind me and have seen every single thing that I have done a million times and have spent countless hours in New York seeing me in my shows and travelling to random cities that I was touring on.”

Daveed Diggs walks the red carpet with his two dates at the 2019 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday afternoon (February 23) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 37-year-old actor was joined by his girlfriend Emmy Raver-Lampman on the left and his Blindspotting co-star Janina Gavankar on the right.

Daveed was nominated for Best Male Lead for his work in the indie film.

Emmy is currently starring on the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy and she got her big break while playing Angelica in the first national tour of Hamilton. Daveed won the Tony for his work in Hamilton on Broadway.
