Hayden Christensen to Play Darth Vader in 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Series with Ewan McGregor!

Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Darth Vader in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series that will be released on Disney+.

Ewan McGregor will be reprising the title role, which he played in The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of The Sith.

Hayden played Anakin Skywalker in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. In the latter movie, he pledged himself to the Sith and Palpatine dubbed him Darth Vader. He battled Obi-Wan in a lightsaber duel near the end of the film and was left for dead, but Palpatine treated his mutilated body and covered him in the black suit we all recognize as the Darth Vader uniform.

Disney announced that the upcoming series “begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Revenge of the Sith.” The series is set to be helmed by Deborah Chow, who has worked on The Mandalorian.

Ewan McGregor & Kelly Bishop Go for a Stroll Filming New Netflix Series 'Simply Halston'

Kelly Bishop holds onto co-star Ewan McGregor‘s arm while filming their upcoming Netflix series Simply Halston on Thursday afternoon (November 5) in New York City.

The 49-year-old Star Wars actor transformed into the fashion designer in an all black outfit with dark sunglasses while the 76-year-old Gilmore Girls actress kept things chic in a fur-trimmed, red coat paired with a fur cap while they filmed a scene in Central Park.

Deadline reports that the series follows the designer “as he leverages his single, invented name into a worldwide fashion empire that’s synonymous with luxury, sex, status and fame, literally defining the era he lives in, 1970’s and ‘80’s New York — until a hostile takeover forces him to battle for control of his most precious asset… the name Halston itself.”

As of right now, it’s unclear who Kelly is playing in the limited series.

Simply Halston also stars Rory Culkin as Joel Scumacher, Rebecca Dayan as Elsa Peretti, David Pittu as Joe Eula, and Krysta Rodriguez as Liza Minnelli.

The week before, Ewan spent the night filming a scene outside of a club in NYC – check out the pics!

Ewan McGregor Masks Up In Between Scenes on 'Simply Halston' Set in New York City

Ewan McGregor is taking all the safety precautions as he films scenes for his upcoming limited series Simply Halston in New York City on Monday afternoon (November 2).

The 49-year-old actor wore a long black trench coat as he shot a few scenes in Central Park with co-star Rebecca Dayan, who wore a long faux fur coat herself.

Ewan and Rebecca both wore face masks and face shields in between filming their scenes.

Simply Halston is based on the rise to fame story of fashion designer Halston.

The series will focus on the designer as he leverages his single, invented name into a worldwide fashion empire that’s synonymous with luxury, sex, status and fame, literally defining the era he lives in, 1970’s and ‘80’s New York — until a hostile takeover forces him to battle for control of his most precious asset…the name Halston itself.

If you didn’t know, Halston actually designed the famous pillbox hat that Jacqueline Kennedy wore to her husband’s presidential inauguration in 1961.

Just last week, Ewan was spotted out in a sharp white suit as he filmed more scenes for the limited series.

Ewan McGregor Reveals When the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Series Will Start Filming!

Ewan McGregor is ready to return to a galaxy far, far away!

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday (October 9), the 49-year-old actor revealed that the Obi-Wan Kenobi-centered Star Wars spinoff series will begin production in March 2021.

“It’s the Obi-Wan Kenobi story, I suppose,” Ewan shared. “We start shooting it in March next year.”

The Disney+ series, which was delayed earlier this year for script re-writes, will be directed by Deborah Chow, who previously directed several episodes of The Mandalorian.

Also during his interview, Ewan talked about taking inspiration from the late Alec Guinness, who played Obi-Wan in the original Star Wars trilogy.

“The fun thing about doing [the prequels] in the first place, when I was much younger, was trying to imagine, how would he play these scenes as a younger guy?” Ewan said. “It led me to watch a lot of his early work, which I hadn’t seen before. Brilliant movies, wonderful films that he’d been in. I had such a great time sort of studying him in those movies.”

“This time, I’m much closer in age to him,” Ewan continued. “It will be my challenge to try and meet him somewhere. I love Alec Guinness. I never got to meet him, but I love him, through his work, and it’s a great honor to try and pretend to be him.”

As of right now, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series does not have a release date.

If you missed it, this actress has no recollection of who she played in Star Wars!

Guillermo del Toro's Star-Studded Cast for 'Pinocchio' Movie at Netflix Has Been Announced!

Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is hard at work on a Pinocchio movie for Netflix and the star-studded cast has been revealed!

The new adaptation of the classic tale will be a stop-motion animated musical movie. Set during the rise of Fascism in Mussolini’s Italy, del Toro‘s Pinocchio is a story of love and disobedience as Pinocchio struggles to live up to his father’s expectations.

Newcomer Gregory Mann is playing the title role, Ewan McGregor will play Cricket, and Harry Potter‘s David Bradley is Geppetto.

Also in the cast are Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, Finn Wolfhard, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, and Burn Gorman.

“After years of pursuing this dream project, I found my perfect partner in Netflix,” Guillermo said in a statement. “We have spent a long time curating a remarkable cast and crew and have been blessed by continuous support from Netflix to quietly and carefully soldier on, barely missing a beat. We all love and practice animation with great passion and believe it to be the ideal medium to retell this classic story in a completely new way.”

Guillermo is directing the movie with Fantastic Mr. Fox‘s Mark Gustafson. He wrote the script with Patrick McHale and the song lyrics with Katz, with music by Alexandre Desplat, who also is writing the score.
