Connie Britton has us in our feelings today!

The 53-year-old Nashville actress appeared on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (January 14) where she opened up about her decision to adopt son Eyob from Ethiopia back in 2011 when he was nine-months-old.

“I had no idea what I was even getting into,” Connie shared. “So it wasn’t so much ‘I can do this’ as much as I knew I wanted to be a mom.”

She continued, “And, in truth, both of my parents had passed away within three years, and suddenly I was like, ‘Oh, no. My family is no more. I mean, I have a twin sister, but that was a big loss, losing my parents. And I wasn’t in a relationship that felt like it was going to be a marriage relationship.”

Connie shared a super rare photo of Eyob, now 9-years-old, while celebrating her birthday last March.

“And so I was like, ‘What am I waiting for? I know I want to adopt. I can do this,’” Connie said before adding with a laugh, “But that was a little delusional because it turns out it’s a really hard thing to do, but I would only encourage anybody to do it. You can do it!”

Connie Britton is sharing a rare glimpse into life with her son Eyob!

The Nashville actress took to Instagram on Sunday (March 8) to share a few photos celebrating her 53rd birthday with her nine-year-old son by her side.

“Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I’m a big believer in drawing out birthdays as long as possible so still feeling the spirit and gratitude after a celebratory birthday weekend!” Connie wrote. “And especially on #InternationalWomensDay I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and inspired to lift up my sisters around the world. Love and thanks y’all!”

Connie turned 53 back on Friday, March 6.

Connie adopted Eyob from Ethiopia back in November 2011 when he was just nine-months-old.

“I’ve worked at The Gap, I worked at The Limited,” Connie confessed to E! News on the red carpet about her previous jobs. “I was appreciative for all those jobs. I probably didn’t do them very well and I didn’t do them for very long.”

Connie added, “It’s all about folding. I’m a terrible folder. I couldn’t stay at The Gap for very long [due to that].”More Here! »

Hayden Panettiere is all smiles while arriving at LAX Airport for a departing flight on Friday (May 24) in Los Angeles.

Later in the day, the 23-year-old actress’ Nashville co-star Connie Britton was also spotted carrying her son Eyob at LAX.

Earlier in the week, Hayden and her rumored fiance Wladimir Klitschko were spotted enjoying a romantic date at Nobu in West Hollywood.

“It’s just been a wonderful, life-changing experience,” Connie shared.

Connie added, “It was something I knew I always wanted to do, was to adopt from there. And then I lost both of my parents actually within three years of each other and I kind of thought, what am I waiting for? The man will come and if I want to have my own kids I can do that, but I know this is something I want to do.”

Connie traveled to the African nation Ethiopia earlier this month after a three-year adoption process and recently returned home with 9-month-old Eyob.
