Teresa Palmer is all smiles while posing alongside her Light’s Out co-star Alexander DiPersia while attending the 2016 MTV Fandom Awards held at PETCO Park on Thursday (July 21) in San Diego, Calif.
That same day, the 30-year-old pregnant actress and Alexander were joined by their other cast mates Maria Bello and Gabriel Bateman at the WIRED Cafe after promoting Light’s Out at SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio Show as part of 2016 Comic-Con.
“I’ve always been a big fan of the genre, but this movie felt very different in that it was about this family dynamic,” Teresa expressed about the film. “My mother suffers with schizophrenia – in the film and real life actually, too – and so for me it was very interesting to see the dynamic between all these family members and seeing the breakdown of their communication.”
“There’s such a dysfunction there that was very appealing to me,” Teresa added. “It was just lovely to delve into this world that felt very real. Aside from the supernatural element, it felt like a family drama, and we wanted to act it that way. We wanted to play these believable characters as realistically as possible.”
