The new comedy Good Boys starring Jacob Tremblay is on track to have the top opening weekend of 2019 for an original comedy film.
The film earned $8.3 million on Friday (August 16) and it’s on track to gross around $20.8 million for the full opening weekend, according to Variety.
Good Boys is performing above expectations, which had it pegged for a $12 million to $15 million weekend. It’s going to be the first R-rated comedy to debut at number one since The boss in 2016.
Seth Rogen and his producing partner Evan Goldberg are the producers behind the film.
