The 27-year-old country singer makes her big screen debut this spring in the film, which tells the true story of Bethany Hamilton (AnnaSophia Robb), a young surfer who finds the courage to go back into the ocean after losing an arm in a shark attack.

Soul Surfer also stars Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid.

Helen Hunt strips out of her wetsuit after surfing on Saturday (January 15) in Malibu, Calif.

The 47-year-old actress has been surfing quite a bit since working on her latest movie Soul Surfer.

The new film, which hits theaters in April, is based on the true story of a teenage surfer girl who loses an arm in a shark attack. Helen plays the mother of the young surfer who eventually finds the courage to return to the waters to surf.

Synopsis: Ned’s (Schreiber) work as a writer on an outrageous, semi-pornographic TV show is less than satisfying. His 15-year-old son has just told him he is gay and his 11 year old is afraid of pretty much everything. When his wife, Jeannie (Helen Hunt), moves her sick and embittered father (Brian Dennehy) from Detroit into their home in NY, it puts added stress on an already strained marriage. And when a sexy female co-worker (Carla Gugino) puts the moves on Ned, the temptation sends him spiraling.

Helen Hunt catches some waves while surfing with her boyfriend Matthew Carnahan on Wednesday (February 3) in Venice Beach, Calif.

It looks like the 46-year-old As Good As It Gets actress has been preparing for her upcoming film, Soul Surfer.

Helen will star alongside Carrie Underwood, Dennis Quaid, and AnnaSophia Robb in the true story about Bethany Hamilton, the 19-year-old champion surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack at age 13.

Helen, 44, has been busy with her latest movie, Then She Found Me, which she co-wrote, produced and starred in. The movie has a limited opening on May 2nd.

Colin Firth, Bette Midler and Matthew Broderick co-star in the movie about a New York schoolteacher who hits a midlife crisis and then in quick succession, her husband leaves, her adoptive mother dies and then her real mother dies. Things get even more interesting when she starts dating the father of one of her students!
