Every 'Today Show' Host Ranked by Longest Tenure, Ranging From 1 Year to 20 Years

NBC’s Today has been on the air since the early 1950s and many of the show’s lead anchors have stuck around for many years!

Throughout the 71 years of the program’s history, there have only been 16 hosts who have sat in the lead anchor chairs. For the first 14 years of the run, there was only one lead anchor until Barbara Walters became a co-anchor and the show’s first female anchor.

Including current co-anchors Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, eight men and eight women have served as the primary anchors on Today. While many of them have held roles on the show for years, we’re only counting their years as lead anchors for this ranking.
