Keaton Jones Hasn't Been Back to School Since Bullying Video Went Viral

Keaton Jones and his mom Kimberly did an interview on ITV’s This Morning earlier today, and spoke about the viral video that put a spotlight on his bullies, as well as the backlash that came with it.

“I actually haven’t been [back] to school,” Keaton revealed to the morning show.

When asked if it was a choice to keep Keaton out of school, Keaton‘s mom Kimberly said, “It was. He has maintained the entire time even at it’s highest high, that he didn’t want to go back to school….After seeing how big it got, it just seems like maybe we should let it die down a little bit before we make any decisions.”

Keaton also shared a message to his bullies: “Why do you bully? What’s the point of it? It makes me feel awful.”

Keaton Jones' Mom Speaks to Confederate Flag Posts on Facebook

Keaton Jones and his mom Kim are speaking out about the viral video that put the spotlight on their family after he was bullied at school.

Now, the family is explaining why they made the viral video on Facebook, and explaining the Confederate Flag Facebook posts that were unearthed later on social media.

“[Keaton] became more and more agitated and didn’t want to go back to school,” Kim said. “I knew that it could be great and I knew that it could be awful, and it has been.”

“The only two photos — the only two photos on my entire planet that I am anywhere near a Confederate flag. It was ironic. It was funny,” Kim said about the photos in question.

Keaton revealed it was his idea to make the video. “I had enough of it. They had said that someone was going to beat me up in lunch so I texted my mom and I said, ‘What do I do here?’” the 11-year-old said.

“It made me feel like I had accomplished something real. Something that could actually change the world,” Keaton said of the response to the video.

Bullying victim Keaton Jones‘ mom has deleted her Facebook page after photos featuring her family posing with the Confederate flag surfaced online.

Kimberly Jones has been accused of being a “racist money grabber” by some websites and she erased any trace of herself from the social media website amid the backlash. This includes the viral video of Keaton tearing up while talking about what bullies had done to him at school.

Keaton has also been accused of saying racist things, but this is something his sister Lakyn denies.

Keaton never said those things. He’s not a racist and we don’t condone that behavior,” she tweeted to actress Patricia Arquette, who was an early supporter of the family this weekend.

Justin Bieber is one of the many celebs who have sent messages of support to Keaton Jones, a boy whose emotional plea to end bullying went viral this weekend.

The 23-year-old singer posted some messages on his Instagram account.

“The fact that he still has the sympathy and compassion for other people when he is going through it himself is a testament to who he is,” Justin said in the below video. “This kid is all time, he is a legend. Go check him out, his name’s Keaton.”

In another post he added, “You got a friend in me Lil bro! Hit me on dm and we can chat!!! Love you buddy!!”

Chris Evans just reached out to Keaton Jones, the bullied Tennessee school kid whose story went viral when his mom shared an extremely emotional plea form him about bullying.

“Stay strong, Keaton. Don’t let them make you turn cold. I promise it gets better. While those punks at your school are deciding what kind of people they want to be in this world, how would you and your mom like to come to the Avengers premiere in LA next year?” Chris wrote on his Twitter account.

When Keaton‘s older sister wrote back saying he would love to go, Chris confirmed that he’s “on it.”
