Sara Bareilles has written original music for the upcoming Apple TV+ series Little Voice and she just dropped her studio recording of the theme song!

The Grammy-winning singer wrote the song “Little Voice” 16 years ago and it’s finally being released as part of the new series.

“I wrote LITTLE VOICE when I was 24 years old and it has been sitting as a ‘demo’ ever since. I’m so proud to see it as the theme to a new show about finding your voice! Made with love,” Sara tweeted.

Sara gave a live performance of the song a couple of weeks ago during an Instagram Live. The show will premiere on July 10 on Apple TV+.

The Grammy-winning singer originally wrote the song for her debut album, which was also called Little Voice, but she was told by executives that the title track wasn’t good enough for the album.

Sara has kept the song in her back pocket this whole time and now it’s the theme song for the upcoming television series.

The Little Voice series is going to premiere on Apple TV+ on July 10. The show stars Brittany O’Grady “as Bess King, a uniquely talented performer struggling to fulfill her dreams while navigating rejection, love, and complicated family issues.”

The show is executive produced by Sara and her Waitress collaborator Jessie Nelson, as well as J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions partner Ben Stephenson.

Little Voice, the new TV series from J.J. Abrams and Sara Bareilles, will premiere on Apple TV+ in July!

The show is billed as a love letter to the diverse musicality of New York and explores the universal journey of finding your authentic voice in your early 20s.

THR reports that Little Voice will premiere on July 10 and new episodes will debut weekly.

Little Voice stars Brittany O’Grady “as Bess King, a uniquely talented performer struggling to fulfill her dreams while navigating rejection, love, and complicated family issues.”

Sara wrote original music for the series, which has a pilot episode written and directed by Jessie Nelson, her collaborator on the Broadway musical Waitress. They executive produced the series with Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions partner Ben Stephenson.

The cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ series Little Voice, which will feature new original music by Sara Bareilles, has been announced!

The four leads will be rising stars Brittany O’Grady, Shalini Bathina, Sean Teale, and Colton Ryan, according to Deadline.

Also joining the cast are Samrat Chakrabarti, Gopal Divan, Sakina Jaffrey and Emma Hong.

Sara is executive producing the new series alongside her Waitress collaborator Jessie Nelson, who is the lead writer on the show. Also executive producing are J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot partner Ben Stephenson.

Little Voice shares the title of Sara‘s debut album and it “will explore the journey of finding your voice in your early 20s. It is described as a fresh, intensely romantic tale of the search to find your true voice… and then the courage to use it.”

Brittany was spotted on set with Sara over the summer while filming in New York!

The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter is composing original music for the upcoming Apple series and she is also one of the executive producers.

Sara was also joined on set that day by the show’s star Brittany O’Grady, who is best known for her previous work on Fox’s Star.

There have been some reports that the show could be getting a different title, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

The show’s star Brittany O’Grady was seen walking dogs throughout the park while wearing a pair of overalls. Her casting has not yet been officially announced.

Brittany, 23, is best known for her work on Fox’s musical series Star and in the film Black Christmas.

The upcoming series, which originally had a working title of Little Voice, was co-created by Sara‘s Waitress collaborator Jessie Nelson.
