Charlie Plummer and Kristine Froseth sit down for a chat about their new series, Looking for Alaska, at Build Series in New York City on Monday (September 16).

The two actors were joined by co-stars Denny Love and Jay Lee to hype up the new show, which premieres on Hulu next month.

When asked if the cast were ones to pull pranks on the set, all four said no.

“We actually were pretty tame for the context of the show,” Denny shared. “Most of the actors on the set were already working actors and we just came into it trying to be professional and most of the fun was had on camera.”

The four young stars of the new Hulu series were joined by the book’s author John Green and the show’s executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

Looking for Alaska is an eight-episode limited series based John’s novel of the same name. Set in 2005, it centers around teenager Miles “Pudge” Halter (Plummer), as he enrolls in boarding school to try to gain a deeper perspective on life. He falls in love with Alaska Young (Froseth), and finds a group of loyal friends. But after an unexpected tragedy, Miles and his close friends attempt to make sense of what they’ve been through.

All episodes of the series will debut on Hulu on October 18.

Sarah Polley is set to write and direct the upcoming film adaptation of Looking for Alaska, the book written by John Green.
