ODD EYE CIRCLE Interview: Life After LOONA & the K-Pop Trio's Next Chapter, 'Version Up'

ODD EYE CIRCLE are coming full (odd eye) circle.

The South Korean K-pop girl group, made up of members Kim Lip, Choerry and JinSoul, first debuted as a sub-unit of the massively popular girl group LOONA back in 2017 with their Billboard U.S. World Top 10 debut Mix & Match, featuring addictive tracks like “Girl Front” and “Loonatic.”

Seven years later, following a highly publicized legal battle with their former agency, the girls have victoriously reemerged on the other side with ARTMS, a five-member project under their new agency, MODHAUS.

Wasting no time to reintroduce themselves to the world and reconnect with their adoring fans, the trio known as OEC are back with their next album, Version Up, led by the rallying cry of “Air Force One.”

Time to change your shoes,” they declare, a reference to the Converses worn by the trio in their debut. “Step It Up Like Air Force One, Next Version Up Up Up!

LOONA's Comeback Postponed Amid Backlash After Member Chuu Got Kicked Out of Group by Agency

LOONA‘s comeback is no longer moving forward.

The agency behind the South Korean K-pop girl group, which had a comeback scheduled for January 3, 2023, confirmed that the project was indefinitely postponed following the removal of member Chuu from the group, sparking international outrage.

While the agency initially blamed Chuu‘s removal on “violent language and misuse of power,” many people and fellow stars in the industry spoke out in her defense. Later, text exchanges and information regarding the contract terms and finances for all the members surfaced, further fueling fan backlash and boycotting against BlockBerry Creative.

The agency released a statement on the group’s fan cafe website.

LOONA is moving forward with a comeback amid controversy.

LOONA is finally here!

The 12-member South Korean girl group released their highly anticipated “Favorite,” the lead single ahead of their upcoming debut, on Tuesday (August 7).

If you didn’t know the girl group’s unique roll-out concept, each member of LOONA has debuted individually over the past two years. “Favorite” is the group’s long-awaited first song performed together with all twelve members!

“At its maximum power for the first time, Loona’s lead single ‘favOriTe’ declares the signature sound of Loona at its complete form,” their agency declares.
