Marc Jacobs wears a sheer lace outfit at the 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

The 49-year-old designer, who walked the red carpet with Lorenzo Martone, told reporters he chose his outfit because he didn’t want to go with a suit like every other guy.

Also pictured at this year’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit: Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy and his fiance David Miller.

Ryan‘s new comedy, The New Normal, was recently picked up by NBC for its fall lineup.

The show will center around a gay couple (played by Andrew Rannells and Justin Bartha) and the surrogate mother for their children.

Marc Jacobs and his new boyfriend Harry Louis attend the Designer For Tomorrow: Insights and Perspetives’ Exhibition on Thursday (May 3) in Berlin, Germany.

The 49-year-old fashion designer has been a patron of the Designer for Tomorrow initiative since 2011.

Last month, the new couple slipped into their speedo to celebrate Marc‘s 49th birthday at the Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro.

Marc Jacobs slips into a speedo and celebrates his 49th birthday with his rumored new boyfriend Harry Louis on Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Tuesday (April 10).

The rumored couple enjoyed fresh coconut water and took pictures of each other with Marc‘s iPhone.

Gwyneth Paltrow poses at a photo call for the Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs exhibition at Les Arts Décoratifs on Wednesday (March 7) in Paris, France.

Kristen Stewart, designer Karl Lagerfeld, and Sarah Jessica Parker also came out to support Marc Jacobs, who arrived in a bright pink outfit.

“Conceived as a tale of two men, the multimedia exhibition examines fascinating, vastly different periods in the fashion industry: the 19th-century world of steamer trunks inhabited by founder Louis Vuitton, and the razzle-dazzle global business energized with potent seasonal fashion shows by Marc Jacobs, Vuitton’s artistic director since 1997,” WWD reports.

The 17-year-old actress was joined by the designer himself, Marc Jacobs, after the show.
