The 42-year-old actor returns as the serial killer Dexter Morgan in the last season of the Showtime series!

Here’s a synopsis of the eighth season, which begins six months after LaGuerta’s murder – and Dexter is still managing life as a dad, brother, and serial killer. As Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) struggles to deal with the consequences of her actions, a mysterious woman comes to work with Miami Metro, offering first-hand information on Dexter’s past.

Showtime finally confirmed what most of us already knew, that the upcoming eighth season would be the last one for the series.

It was recently announced that Yvonne Strahovski will be returning as Dexter’s twisted love interest and British actress Charlotte Rampling will join the cast in the role of a neuro-psychiatrist who works with serial killers.

It’s official: The upcoming eighth season of Dexter will be the final season in the series.

During a conference call, CBS Corp. president and CEO Les Moonves referred to the new season of the series as its “last,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

While many fans have been pleading for the show to end after some say its run its course, the ratings continue to break records for Showtime.

ARE YOU SAD that this will be the final season of Dexter?

Michael C. Hall walks hand-in-hand with his novelist girlfriend Morgan Macgregor as the couple takes a stroll on Saturday (January 26) in Los Angeles.

The 41-year-old actor recently opened up about the possibilities of signing on to a new series after Dexter comes to an end.

“I’d never say never,” he told VH1. “Who knows what the future holds? But I’ve been very fortunate thus far.”
