If you have ever wanted to see the gender roles in the musical Dreamgirls flipped, you are in luck thanks to MCC Theatre’s Miscast Gala.

The annual gala allows Broadway performers to sing songs for roles they would never be able to play on stage due to age, gender, and/or race restrictions.

Two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz led an epic ensemble to perform the Dreamgirls songs “It’s All Over” and “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” at this year’s event. He played Effie while Brian d’Arcy James played Deena and Brandon Victor Dixon took on Lorrell.

Stephanie J. Block played Effie’s love interest Curtis, Kelli O’Hara took on Effie’s brother C.C., Jordan Fisher played the new Dream Michelle, and Jenn Colella played Jimmy Early.

Jennifer Holliday, who originated the role of Effie on Broadway, was sitting on stage during the performance and Norbert bowed at her feet after he was finished singing!

Paul Rudd is dapper in a suit while posing for photographs at the after party for The MCC Theatre Benefit Reading of Neil LaBute‘s Reasons To Be Pretty Happy held at Ramsacle on Sunday (September 11) in New York City.

The 47-year-old actor was joined by his co-stars Amber Tamblyn, Jennifer Mudge, Norbert Leo Butz and the playwright himself Neil LaBute at the special one-night-only staged benefit reading.

“Set on the night of their 20th anniversary high school reunion, Reasons to be Pretty Happy follows Greg (Rudd) and Steph (Tamblyn) as they revisit their home town after having moved to New York. Kent (Butz) and Carly (Mudge) are suspicious of their reasons for returning and the four friends dance (sometimes literally) through a series of encounters at their school gym as they try to rekindle old friendships, struggle with their futures (together and separately) and reveal secrets to one another that might have been better left buried beneath a pile of yearbooks.”

Tom Sturridge rocks his signature hat while speaking onstage during the The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses panel discussion at the PBS portion of the 2016 Summer TCA Tour at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Wednesday (July 29) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 30-year-old actor was joined by his co-star Sophie Okonedo.

That same day, Patina Miller, Josh Radnor, and Norbert Leo Butz stepped out to support Mercy Street‘s second season.

Megan Hilty looks ravishing in red while showing off her post-baby body at the opening night of Broadway’s Hand to God on Tuesday (April 7) at the Booth Theatre in New York City.

The 34-year-old Smash actress is making her first red carpet appearance since the birth of her daughter Viola last fall. She was joined by her husband Brian Gallagher at the event.

Megan‘s co-star Jeremy Jordan was also in attendance, as were original Wicked stars and married couple Norbert Leo Butz and Michelle Federer, Joel Grey, Andrew Rannells, Patti Murin, Erich Bergen, Elisabeth Reaser, and Jennifer Westfeldt.

Tina Fey and Ellie Kemper speak on stage about the new Netflix show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt at the 2015 TCA Press Tour at the Langham Hotel on Wednesday (January 7) in Pasadena, Calif.

The two comedians were joined at the event by their actors on the show Tituss Burgess and Jane Krakowski, as well as co-creator Robert Carlock.

At the tour, Netflix announced that Kimmy Schmidt will premiere on Friday, March 6!

Norbert Leo Butz and Bobby Steggert sandwich in their co-star Kate Baldwin while attending the opening night after party for their new Broadway musical Big Fish on Sunday evening (October 6) in New York City.

The show is based on the 2003 film of the same name and is currently playing on Broadway, so make sure to buy your tickets right now!

Matthew Broderick and Krystal Joy Brown, who plays the role Josephine, were also spotted attending the after party that night.

Norbert is a two-time Tony Award winner who most recently starred alongside Katie Holmes in the play Dead Accounts.
