Bryan Cranston Cast as Zordon in 'Power Rangers' Movie

Another big name has been added to the cast of the upcoming Power Rangers movie – Bryan Cranston will play Zordon!

The 60-year-old Oscar-nominated and six-time Emmy-winning actor tweeted the exciting news on Tuesday (June 21).

“Excited to play #Zordon in the #PowerRangersMovie! T or F: #BlueRanger Billy Cranston was named after what actor?” Bryan tweeted with the little bit of trivia.

The official Power Rangers Twitter account later tweeted that it is indeed true!

Bryan joins a cast that includes Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa and a young cast featuring Becky G, Ludi Lin, Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, and RJ Cyler as the rangers.

Elizabeth Banks looks super fierce in her green costume while playing the role of Rita Repulsa on the set of the Power Rangers movie on Monday (April 25) in Richmond, Canada.

The 42-year-old actress is hard at work on the upcoming movie, set to hit theaters on March 24, 2017.

“It’s definitely a modern and edgy re-imagining of the original Rita Repulsa,” Elizabeth told People. “We wanted to give her a backstory that connects her to the new Rangers.”

“I’ve never played a villain before,” the 42-year-old actress said, before adding she’s looking forward to “world domination – and being unpredictable as a character.”

The film is based on the popular 1990s television show featuring the Blue, Yellow, Black, Pink and Red Rangers.

“It’s definitely a modern and edgy re-imagining of the original Rita Repulsa,” Elizabeth added.

'Power Rangers' Actors Show Off Shirtless Buff Bodies Before Filming!

Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, and Ludi Lin are bulking up in preparation for filming the upcoming Power Rangers movie!

All three guys – playing the Red, Blue, and Black Rangers, respectively – have taken to social media to share some hot shirtless pics from the gym.

“Last training session today! Massive shoutout and a huge thank you to the guys down @waimaclub Phil, Andrew and Graham,” Dacre captioned an Instagram video. “It’s been an incredible journey and I’ve come so far in the last few months and still have so much to learn and space to grow. I feel honoured to have been trained by you guys, such an inspiration! Time to get cracking #redranger”

Dark & Gritty 'Power Rangers' Short Film Hits Web - Watch Now!

A dark and gritty Power Rangers film just hit the web from director Joseph Kahn.

The film gives a look at what happened to the Power Rangers after growing up as super hero teens and what may have happened to them in the long run.

It stars James Van Der Beek and Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackoff, among others.

Fans went immediately nuts for the film, which is very dark. It contains cursing and violence.

Amy Jo Johnson, the Original Pink Power Ranger, Gets Back Into Costume & Wins the Whole Week!

Amy Jo Johnson, the actress who originated the role of the Kimberly Hart/The Pink Ranger in the series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back in 1990s, is getting back into costume and we couldn’t be more psyched!

The 44-year-old actress has most recently been seen on the new season of Covert Affairs and as the star of the Canadian series Flashpoint, which ended back in 2012.

Amy got into her spandex suit and performed on the streets of Toronto on Friday (November 7) to celebrate reaching her Indiegogo funding goal for her upcoming directorial debut feature film.

The Space Between is about a proud new daddy who finds out his child is not his own. There are still sixteen days left on the campaign, but 119% of the goal has already been achieved!

Power Rangers Live Action Movie Franchise in the Works!

Great news, Power Rangers fans – the popular super characters are being developed into a live action movie franchise!

Lionsgate and Saban Brands are partnering up to produce a live action film to be the first in a series.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Saban and his team to maximize the potential of this immensely successful and universally recognized franchise,” Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said in a statement. “The Power Rangers stories and characters have been embraced by generations of audiences for more than 20 years, and today they are more powerful than ever.”

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers first became a series in 1993 and grew into movies, action figure toys, and more.
