Zelda Williams is honoring the memory of her dad Robin Williams and trying to raise awareness for several charities on World Mental Health Day.

“Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. Mental illness is often misunderstood & misrepresented, but that’s starting to change. Let’s end the stigma,” the 25-year-old actress tweeted. “Mental health IS as important as physical health, & whether there are visible signs or not, the suffering is real. It can affect EVERYONE.”

“So please, let’s help stop the misconceptions & support those who need our help. Healing the whole starts with healing minds,” Zelda continued. “Some wonderful mental health charities: supportbarrow.org, afsp.org, narsad.org, and hopeforthewarriors.org.”

“No matter what the misinformed say, you can’t simply CHOOSE to make mental illness go away. It is NOT cowardly to suffer or seek help,” Zelda concluded. “Lastly, my dad openly fought depression his whole life, both in general and his own. No matter what anyone says, it is a FIGHT. Fight on.”

Billy Crystal takes to the stage to pay tribute to his longtime friend Robin Williams at the 2014 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Monday (August 25) in Los Angeles.

The 66-year-old actor spoke about Robin following the In Memoriam montage, which featured a performance from Sara Bareilles doing a rendition of “Smile.”

“He made us laugh hard, every time you saw him on television, in arenas, hospitals, homeless shelters, and even in a dying girl’s living room,” Billy said. “The relentless energy was kind of thrilling. I used to think if I could just put a saddle on him and stay on for eight seconds…”

“It’s very hard hard to talk about him in the past because he was so present in all of our lives,” Billy added.
