The Lion King‘s Broadway production has welcomed back Adrienne Walker to the cast in the role of Nala!

The talented actress made her Broadway debut as Nala back in 2016 and she just wrapped a run in the Tony-nominated revival of the classic musical Kiss Me Kate.

Adrienne rejoined the cast of The Lion King on Tuesday (July 16) and she’ll be performing the role when the live-action film remake is released this weekend.

“Looking at this week with much anticipation,” Adrienne wrote on her Instagram account along with a photo shot backstage.

Beyonce‘s stunning music video for “Spirit” from The Lion King has arrived and there’s a very special guest starring alongside – her daughter Blue Ivy Carter!

The 37-year-old superstar shot the video in the Grand Canyon just last week and she was spotted on location working on the scene by a waterfall. See those photos on TMZ.

“The concept of the video is to show how God is the painter, and natural beauty in nature needs no art direction,” Beyonce explained. “It’s the beauty of color, the beauty of melanin, the beauty of tradition.”

Clips from the live-action remake of The Lion King are included in the music video, which debuted during an ABC special giving a behind-the-scenes look at the movie.

“Spirit” is featured on the already released soundtrack for the 2019 remake of The Lion King and it will also be on Beyonce‘s new album Lion King: The Gift, which features new songs inspired by the film.

There’s one major easter egg in The Lion King that fans should look out for going into the movie!

Director Jon Favreau sat down for an interview with ABC and revealed that every shot in movie is created by pixels…except for one.

“We knew we had to make it feel like a live action film as much as possible, but there’s nothing real in the movie. There’s no real sets, there’s no real animals, there’s no motion capture…there’s nothing but pixels,” Jon said. “Actually there’s one real shot. That I snuck in at one point in the movie.”

Out of the 1400 shots in the movie, Jon put in one real image from Africa, to see if fans could figure it out.

And before you see the movie this weekend, you may want to get familiar with this!

Beyoncé‘s Lion King: The Gift album now has an official tracklist!

The 37-year-old entertainer voices the role of Nala in the upcoming Disney film and she produced and curated an accompanying album to go along with the film.

Lion King: The Gift features a collaboration between Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Childish Gambino, as well as a collab between Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar. Beyond that, the tracklist also contains Jessie Reyez, Pharrell, Tierra Whack, Wale, and others.

There’s even an appearance from Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

“This is sonic cinema,” Beyoncé said in the press release. “This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.”

“I wanted to put everyone on their own journey to link the storyline,” Beyoncé continued. “Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery, while listening to a new contemporary interpretation. It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me.”

Beyonce is talking all about her upcoming album, The Lion King: The Gift, which was curated and created by her and inspired by the film.

“This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it,” Beyonce said on Good Morning America on Tuesday (July 16). “I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa.”

Beyonce also debuted the album artwork on the show. A big Lion King special is set to air on ABC tonight at 8pm ET, where we will also get to see the music video for Beyonce‘s song “Spirit,” which is featured on The Gift as well as the movie’s soundtrack. Expect to see more interviews with the cast members of the film as well.

Taron Egerton and girlfriend Emily Thomas are all smiles as they arrive at the premiere of The Lion King on Sunday afternoon (July 14) at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, England.

The Rocketman star walked the red carpet alongside Vin Diesel and longtime love Paloma Jimenez for the European premiere of the upcoming Disney movie.

Billy Eichner, Keegan-Michael Key, and Seth Rogen rock bow ties on the red carpet at the premiere of The Lion King on Sunday afternoon (July 14) at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, England.

The guys were joined at the premiere by Seth‘s wife Lauren Miller along with co-star Florence Kasumba and director Jon Favreau.

Also in attendance at the premiere were the film’s musical composers Pharrell Williams and wife Helen Lasichanh, Elton John and husband David Furnish, and Hans Zimmer, and Disney President Bob Iger.
