Tom Kennedy Dead: 'Name That Tune' Game Show Host Passes Away at 93

Legendary TV game show host Tom Kennedy has sadly passed away.

Tom died on Wednesday, October 7 at the age of 93, his friend Steve Beverly announced via Deadline. As of right now, Tom‘s cause of death has not been revealed.

Tom‘s first big break in the game show genre was hosting The Big Game and Dr. I.Q. in 1985. His first major success was hosting You Don’t Say!, which aired for six seasons from 1963 to 1969 on NBC, which was later revived by ABC in 1975.

Tom‘s longest hosting gig was with Name That Tune, which he hosted from 1974 to 1981.

Also over his career, Tom hosted Break the Bank, 50 Grand Slam, To Say the Least, Whew!, Body Language, The Price is Right, Wordplay, and Password Plus. He also hosted his talk show The Real Tom Kennedy Show in 1970, and also appeared as a panelist on To Tell the Truth.

Tom‘s wife of 59 years, Betty, died in 2001. He is survived by his three kids – Linda, James Jr., and Courtney – granddaughter Abigail, and his sister Mary Lovett Scully.
