Screenwriter/Producer Robert Orci In Talks to Direct 'Star Trek 3'

Roberto Orci has been named as the frontrunner to direct the upcoming Star Trek 3 movie, Deadline reports.

The 40-year-old screenwriter and producer is no stranger to the series. He wrote 2009s Star Trek, 2013s Star Trek Into Darkness, and is planning on writing the third installment as well.

This would be Roberto‘s first foray into major motion picture direction.

While nothing has been confirmed, sources say Roberto is “in talks.” J.J. Abrams directed the first two movies in the series.
