Cody & Jessica Nickson Reveal What Happened Right Before He Proposed On Her New Podcast

Cody and Jessica Nickson are opening up more about what led up to their engagement.

The newlyweds, who met on Big Brother, got engaged last February and married in October, and are expecting their first child together.

During the debut episode of Jessica‘s new podcast Now What?, the couple shared the story of what led up to his proposal and how she was really mad at him moments before he popped the question.

“When it came time for you to propose, I really wanted you to do it your way. I really wanted to just try and stay out of it as much as possible,” she said. “I kind of waited…and waited… and waited. I don’t know how people have years without getting engaged. I had anxiety.”

Cody admitted he was waiting so long because he didn’t have the ring yet, and it actually came the morning he proposed.

“So right before I left to go on my hike to Runyon, I asked him when he was going to propose…No one knows this. We have never talked about this publicly before – it’s embarrassing,” Jessica added.

Cody: “It was a one side heated argument that Jessica was having with me.”

Jessica: “One sided!?!”

Cody: “I was laughing on the inside.”

Jessica: “He was laughing. It was so rude.”

Cody: “Because I was going to propose…”

Jessica: “And what I didn’t know, as I was walking out the door, he said to me again, ‘Do you want to know why I haven’t proposed?’ And I looked at you, and I stopped for a second, and I thought about it, and I said, ‘No!’ And I closed the door and I went on my hike. And what I did not know in that exact moment is he was wearing basketball shorts and had the freaking ring in his pocket.”

Cody: “What I was waiting for was the ring to show up, and it did that morning.”
