Laura Dern Gets Honored with Cinema Vanguard Award at Santa Barbara Film Fest!
Laura Dern is racking up her honors!
The 52-year-old actress received the Cinema Vanguard Award at the 2020 Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Tuesday evening (January 21) at the historic Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara.
The Cinema Vanguard Award recognizes actors who have forged their own path, taking artistic risks and making a significant contribution to film. Laura was honored for her life’s work, including two of the biggest films of the year, Netflix’s Marriage Story and Sony’s Little Women, in which she played important roles.
Ted Sarandos, part time Montecito resident and Netflix’s Content Chief, was in attendance to help introduce and honor Laura.
“I totally could have winged this,” Serandos said. “I could talk on and on about Laura’s great work of art, but you can see that from the clips. But I think what also comes out is Laura’s great sense of humanity. She is a great partner and a good friend.”
