Brazil's Christ the Redeemer Statue Lit Up with Flags of Countries Affected by Coronavirus
The Christ the Redeemer statue, which is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was lit up with the flags of countries affected by coronavirus.
The images were projected onto the statue on Wednesday night (March 18) and the words “pray together” were projected onto the statue in many languages.
The statue is currently closed to visitors for at least a week. There are currently 635 cases of the virus in Brazil and 7 deaths have been confirmed.
The United States currently ranks number six in the list of countries with the most cases with over 13,000 people infected as of Thursday night. There have been 182 deaths so far in the U.S.
