Claudia Conway is going to be making lots of headlines tonight thanks to her audition on American Idol and you might be looking for more info on her, so we have you covered.

The 16-year-old singer is the daughter of Kellyanne Conway, the former adviser to former president Donald Trump, and George Conway, an attorney who founded the conservative anti-Trump organization The Lincoln Project.

Throughout the past year, Claudia has become famous for her TikTok videos in which she shared her political views and battled with her parents.

1. Claudia doesn’t agree with her parents’ political views.

Kellyanne worked closely with Trump during nearly his full term as president, but Claudia has very liberal views on politics.

“My family is a political family,” she told Insider. “I grew up in a very very conservative family, so I was only exposed to those views for a very long time. I decided to educate myself and think for myself.”

“I’m still a kid, of course,” she added. “I took the time to educate myself and took the time to branch out and be exposed to other sides and other biases and whatnot.”

2. Claudia tried to emancipate from her parents

Back in August 2020, Claudia announced on Twitter that she was “officially pushing for emancipation.”

“I’m officially pushing for emancipation. Buckle up because this is probably going to be public one way or another, unfortunately. Welcome to my life,” she wrote on Twitter.

“my mother’s job ruined my life to begin with. heartbreaking that she continues to go down that path after years of watching her children suffer. selfish. it’s all about money and fame, ladies and gentlemen,” she also wrote.

She also clarified that her desire for emancipation did not directly have to do with her mother’s job.

“y’all love to twist everything 😭😭 i’m not getting emancipated because of my mom’s job.. it is because of years of childhood trauma and abuse,” she said.

3. She became famous on TikTok because of her videos about her mom

Claudia‘s TikTok videos first starting gaining a significant amount of attention back in early summer 2020 when she began voicing her opinions on Trump.

In one such TikTok, Claudia encouraged people to leave one-star reviews on properties that Trump owns, and in another, says “Why do people hate on Trump supporters, like can’t we just respect everyone’s opinions? SIKE nah block me pls and then educate yourself.”

Claudia‘s account has picked up followers for her outspoken views and responded to some people questioning how she gets along with her parents because of them.

“Thank you for all the love on my videos but just please no hate to my mom or my dad, they’re both amazing people and I love them so much. No hate to either of them, it’s just me and my views.”

4. Claudia has actually said her mom is her “best friend”

“We do get into arguments a lot — I’m not going to lie,” she told Insider “My mom is my best friend but we do fight all the time over politics, and I’m always shut down by my entire family.”

“I love my parents,” she added. “They are the most generous, most well-educated people I have ever met. I look up to them and want nothing but success and good fortune for them. They are my parents and that trumps all — no pun intended.”

“My mom is also a badass,” she also said. “I think I want everyone to know that. My mom is the strongest person I know and she’s 100% a feminist. My dad completely supports what I’m doing and I think my mom does too, she’s just not as open about it as my dad.”

5. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her family (including a twin brother!)

The Conway family moved from New Jersey to the nation’s capitol back in 2016, when Claudia was in sixth grade. At the time, she actually started a Change.org petition in hopes of getting her parents to not relocate the family.

Claudia has three siblings – a twin brother named George and two younger sisters, Charlotte and Vanessa.

6. Claudia got COVID-19 back in October 2020, after her mom first tested positive

Back when many people in the Trump administration were testing positive for COVID-19, Kellyanne tested positive and Claudia was the one who first revealed the diagnosis.

Claudia revealed just a couple days later that she also tested positive.

7. Her topless photo was leaked on her mom Kellyanne’s Twitter account

Just a few weeks ago, a topless photo of Claudia, who is underage, was posted on Kellyanne‘s Twitter account. It’s not clear how the picture was posted.

The photo was posted to the “fleets” section of the account. For those that don’t know, a fleet is Twitter’s version of an Instagram Story.

After originally blaming her mom for leaking the photo, Claudia then defended Kellyanne and said she doesn’t think she’s to blame.

“I have faith, and I know that my mother would never put something like that on the Internet, as well as me, we would never do that,” she said.

8. Now she’s trying out for American Idol!

Claudia‘s audition on American Idol will air during the season premiere on Sunday, February 14.

It’s not clear yet if she will make it to the next round, but she already informed fans that she wasn’t happy with her audition.

“Disclaimer that I am not happy w my idol audition,” Claudia wrote on TikTok. “I was so nervous and sick so im just giving everyone a little heads up ok.”
