Savannah Smith Confirms This Theory About Her 'Gossip Girl' Character

Savannah Smith is addressing all the speculation about her Gossip Girl character!

On the HBO Max revival series, the 20-year-old actress plays Monet de Haan.

Since the show first started airing, fans have taken to social media to question Monet’s sexuality.

So yea, she’s into girls,” Savannah tweeted, before adding, “And only girls.”

In a recent interview with Essence, Savannah gave some insight about her character.

“She’s evil! She’s cutthroat. She’s the maker of all drama, and she makes people cry,” Savannah explained about Monet. “I definitely thought about the angry Black girl trope, but it’s just not there.”

She also added, “Monet is a very complex character. In the first few episodes, you’ll see her on the surface level, but you can tell that there’s a reason she acts the way she does.”

We’re just going to wait and see what Monet has in store for viewers as the season progresses.
