Paramount+ and dropped a first look at the latest installment in the horror franchise announced its release date on Friday (September 17).

While there aren’t many details about the new Paranormal Activity, the movie has been described as a new beginning for the series.

The trailer seems to tease a new colonial-era setting mixed in with the franchise’s classic found-footage camera style.

Christopher Landon, who wrote four of the films and also directed the fifth installment, is writing the reboot. The movie is being directed by William Eubank, who worked on the 2020 horror film Underwater starring Kristen Stewart.

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is set to be released and will stream exclusively on Paramount Plus on October 29.
