Vanessa Kirby Replaces Jodie Comer in Ridley Scott's 'Kitbag'

Vanessa Kirby is taking over the role that Jodie Comer dropped out of earlier in the day.

The 33-year-old former The Crown star will star opposite Joaquin Phoenix in Kitbag, which will be directed by Ridley Scott.

The historical drama about Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife, Empress Josephine, will begin production this spring for Apple, according to Deadline.

The outlet also reports that the official logline is this: “Kitbag explores Bonaparte’s origins and his swift, told through the lens of his addictive and often volatile relationship with the Empress.”

Earlier in the day, it was revealed that Jodie had dropped out of the movie over this reason.

Just recently, Vanessa has been filming The Son, which this Oscar winner will also star.
