Daisy Edgar-Jones to Play Carole King in 'Beautiful' Movie - Read Carole's Statement on Casting Choice!

Daisy Edgar-Jones will be starring in the upcoming film adaptation of the hit Broadway show Beautiful: The Carole King Musical!

The Broadway show ran for over five years and the show’s star Jessie Mueller won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical.

Some other notable actresses who played the role on Broadway include Melissa Benoist, Vanessa Carlton, Chilina Kennedy, and Jessie‘s younger sister Abby Mueller.

The movie will be directed by The Kids Are Alright‘s Lisa Cholodenko, who also co-wrote the screenplay.

Carole said in a statement, “Daisy has a spirit and energy that I recognized as myself when I was younger. She’s a tremendous talent and I know she’s going to give a great performance.”

Daisy is best known for her breakout role in Normal People and her performances in movies like Where the Crawdads Sing and Fresh.
