Harry Styles Thanks One Direction, Addresses Privilege While Accepting Awards at BRIT Awards 2023

Harry Styles reflected on his One Direction roots and seemingly addressed a statement he made at the 2023 Grammys while accepting an award at the 2023 BRIT Awards.

The 29-year-old “As It Was” hitmaker won in all four of the categories he was nominated in – Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop/R&B Act – during the awards show, which took place on Saturday (February 11).

He used his time onstage for good after some were critical of his Album of the Year acceptance speech at the Grammys.

If you need a reminder, during it he said that “This doesn’t happen to people like me very often.”

While picking up the Artist of the Year win, Harry shouted out the rest of 1D.

“I want to thank Niall, Louis, Liam and Zayn because I wouldn’t be here without you either. Thank you so much,” he said.

Meanwhile, the star dedicated his Song of the Year win to some of his female peers that were overlooked in the category.

“I’m very aware of my privilege up here tonight so this award is for Rina, Charli, Florence, Mabel and Becky,” he said.

Harry also opened up the awards show with a performance.
