Brad’s plot in Season 2 leads him to appear for only a little while in each episode, up until the finale, when he splits with Gigi (Wallis Day) and reunites with Billie (Sarah Shahi, also his real-life girlfriend), who broke up with Majid (Darius Homayoun). The two end up tying the knot, and at the altar, Brad learns Billie is pregnant with their child.

As far as his reduced role time in Season 2, he said: “That’s more of a creator’s and writer’s question to answer, I think, just because those are the genius minds that come up with this stuff.”

“But I think, maybe, in order to allow the Billie and Majid storyline, for you to buy into it, maybe Brad can’t always be there as much. But yeah, I’m not too sure. It’s nice to be missed, if people do miss Brad. But I did understand that in order for these storylines to work, you have to allow them to take their own form and have a life of their own. When you’re reading the scripts and knowing that you come full circle and they end up together, it wasn’t too bad to go through.

As far as conversations leading up to it, Adam said: “They sort of crafted season two and were like, ‘This is how it’s gonna go.’ I always say, a lot smarter people than me come up with these storylines and create shows; I certainly couldn’t do it. They were like, ‘This is why it’s happening.’ And it made sense in order to allow the audience to follow Billie’s journey with Majid and her new experiences; sometimes you can’t have Brad there all the time.

“But you do have to sprinkle it in because they are each other’s true love in a sense. I think you have to allow each character’s own journey to have its own life for a while. I think that’s what they were trying to do,” he went on to say.
