Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, aka AOC, caused controversy in 2021 by wearing a “tax the rich” dress to the Met Gala.

People were quick to point out that it costs $30,000 for each guest to attend the event, even though most celebs don’t actually pay for the tickets themselves.
