'The Godfather' & 'Elf' Star James Caan Passes away at 82

Legendary actor James Caan, known for his work as Sonny Corleone in The Godfather, Paul Sheldon in Misery, and Walter (Buddy the Elf’s dad) in Elf, has passed away.

A statement was posted to the 82-year-old actor’s social media page to let his fans know of the tragic news.

The tweet read, “It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jimmy on the evening of July 6.”

It continued, “The family appreciates the outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
