Carrie Underwood is stunning during a performance at the 2013 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (September 22) in Los Angeles.

“The coolest thing about singing “Yesterday” on the #Emmys is the sweet letter I got from @PaulMcCartney giving me his blessing to sing it!” the 30-year-old country singer tweeted after the performance.

Earlier in the day, Carrie donned a gorgeous purple gown while walking the red carpet at the ceremony, which was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

FYI: Carrie is wearing a Randi Rahm gown.

Damian Lewis hits the red carpet with his wife Helen McCrory at the 2013 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (September 22) in Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old actor was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his work as Nicholas Brody on Homeland.

Damian was nominated against Downton Abbey‘s Hugh Bonneville, Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston, The Newsroom‘s Jeff Daniels, Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm, and House of Cards‘ Kevin Spacey. The award ultimately went to Jeff.

FYI: Damian is wearing head-to-toe Tom Ford.

The 39-year-old Game of Thrones star rocked an Alessandra Rich dress with Tina Thor jewels and Lamb shoes.

Elton John rocks a flashy blue suit during a performance at the 2013 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (September 22) in Los Angeles.

Before taking the stage, the 66-year-old music legend was introduced by Behind the Candelabra‘s Matt Damon and Michael Douglas.

Elton performed his new song “Home Again,” which he wrote, as a tribute to Liberace, who was brought back into the spotlight with Behind the Candelabra. Liberace died from cytomegalovirus pneumonia in February 1987.

Jessica Lange and Dylan McDermott hit the red carpet at the 2013 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (September 22) in Los Angeles.

The actors starred together in the first season of American Horror Story. Dylan has since moved on to star in the upcoming CBS series Hostages, which starts this week. He was joined at the event by girlfriend Shasi Wells.

Jessica was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for her work on American Horror Story: Asylum, but she lost out to The Big C‘s Laura Linney.

The 40-year-old actor was joined for his opening monologue by previous Emmy hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Jane Lynch.
