One winner you might not have been familiar with at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards was the K-pop group BTS, who won the Top Social Artist award!

The group dethroned Justin Bieber, who has won the award for the past six years. The guys beat out four huge artists – Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes – to win.

So, who are the guys? BTS is made up of seven members: Rap Monster, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, V and Jungkook.

BTS is an acronym for the Korean term “Bangtan Songyeondan,” which translates to “bulletproof boy scouts” in English. Something rare about the group is that the guys have writing and production credits on many of their songs, which tackle topics such as mental health, female empowerment, and other socially conscious issues.

While the group is huge in South Korea, they’ve already sold out shows in the U.S. and their music has sold well all around the world.

Miley Cyrus is joined by her fiance Liam Hemsworth while walking around backstage at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards at the T-Mobile Arena on Sunday (May 21) in Las Vegas.

The 24-year-old entertainer gave the first television performance of her new single “Malibu” that evening and Liam was there to show his support!

Miley changed into a ruffled dress after the performance to join her family – mom Tish, dad Billy Ray, and sisters Noah and Brandi – in the audience for the rest of the show.

FYI: Miley is wearing an Alessandra Rich look in the audience. She is wearing a Re/Done shorts and a vintage belt, top, and hot for the performance.

Celine Dion is just like all of us and danced and sang to Cher‘s amazing Billboard Music Awards performance on Sunday (May 22)!

This was Cher‘s first performance at an award show in 15 years, and Celine was backstage watching her perform “Believe” on a monitor. Luckily, someone caught the video of one legend watching another legend!

The guys both appeared on stage during the show, Jussie as a presenter and Jason as part of Nicki Minaj‘s opening number.

Other stars in attendance at the show included Machine Gun Kelly, Diplo, and G-Eazy.

John Legend and the guys of Florida Georgia Line combined their hits, “Surefire” and “H.O.L.Y.,” for an amazing performance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards held at the T-Mobile Arena on Sunday (May 21) in Las Vegas.

John kicked off the performance of his song “Surefire” on the piano, and was then joined by Florida Georgia Line.

Halsey takes the stage to perform her hot song “Now Or Never” at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards held at the T-Mobile Arena on Sunday (May 21) in Las Vegas.
