Maury Povich & Wife Connie Chung Make Rare Appearance Together at Daytime Emmy Awards 2023

Maury Povich and Connie Chung are enjoying a very night out!

The married couple posed for photos while arriving at the 2023 Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday night (December 15) held at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in Los Angeles.

For the event, Maury, 84, looked sharp in a black tux while Connie, 77, donned a pink blazer and black pants.

During the awards show, Maury was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. His hit daytime talk show Maury came to an end in 2022 after more than 30 years on TV.

If you didn’t know, Maury and Connie have been married since 1984 and share son Matthew, 28.

Daytime Emmy Awards 2023 - Complete Winners List

The full list of winners for the 2023 Daytime Emmy Awards has been revealed!

The ceremony was held on Friday (December 15) at at Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.

Entertainment Tonight anchors Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner returned to host the awards show, which aired live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.

The 2023 Daytime Emmys was originally slated to take place on June 16, though the ceremony was postponed due to the writers and actors strikes.

2023 Daytime Emmys Have Been Postponed Because Of The Writer's Strike

The 2023 Daytime Emmys were expected to take place next month.

However, due to the ongoing WGA Strike, the ceremony has been postponed by the Television Academy.

“We look forward to our community gathering together as one to celebrate our Golden Anniversary and all of the talented nominees and honorees at a later date,” the statement read from Adam Sharp, president and CEO of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, via TheWrap.

The award ceremony, which recognizes outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts, was planned to be held on June 17 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.

The nominees for this years show include General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Drew Barrymore Show and The Jennifer Hudson Show.

The actress, who plays Wendy Shin on the Peacock soap opera, is withdrawing her nomination for Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series after accidentally violating the rules.

She technically should never have been submitted for the award because nominees must now be 18 years old or younger.
