BIGBANG's G-Dragon Reportedly Booked on Drug-Related Charges, Agency Issues Statement

G-Dragon has reportedly been booked for a drug-related violation.

The 35-year-old South Korean rapper and singer, who rose to fame as the leader of the group BIGBANG and is referred to as the “King of K-Pop,” reportedly was booked without detention by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on Wednesday (October 25), via Soompi.

K-Pop's BIGBANG Contract Renewals - 4 Members Contract Status Revealed!

BIGBANG’s making big career moves.

The long-running K-pop boy band is currently in contract renewal negotiations with YG Entertainment after 16 years, and the company confirmed some big changes on Monday (December 26).

The group debuted back in 2006 with T.O.P, Taeyang, G-Dragon and Daesung, as well as Seungri, who retired from the music industry in 2019 amid scandal.

BIGBANG Member T.O.P Released From Military Service Amid Controversy

T.O.P, born Choi Seung-hyun, is done with his military service.

The 31-year-old South Korean BIGBANG boy band member was released on Saturday (July 6) from alternative military service following controversy.

T.O.P began his mandatory service as a police officer in February of 2017, but was kicked out after a few months after it was discovered that he smoked marijuana in 2016. He received a 10-month jail sentence with a two year probation, and then started as a public service worker in January of 2018.

Three other BIGBANG members are also serving their mandatory military sentence. Seungri, who was a member of the group, was removed from the group after being investigated for drug use and sexual abuse.

I will make sure to reflect on my self and repay the hurts and disappointments I caused to you. Again, thank you. Instagram Reveals Most Popular Korean Accounts of 2018 - See the Top 10!

Instagram has announced the most popular Korean accounts in the 2018 Instagram Awards as of Thursday (December 20).

The awards included six categories: Most Loved Account, Top 10 Accounts, Account With Most Growth, Top Boy Group, Top Girl Group, and Photo With Most Likes.

BLACKPINK’s “Solo” star Jennie won Most Loved Account of 2018, which was based on views and likes of Stories and posts.

“I’m always thankful that [fans] are interested in my Instagram. Please keep an eye out for my Instagram, as I will be sharing more memories,” she said of the win.

BTS won the Top Boy Group category and BLACKPINK won Top Girl Group.

BTS also won Photo With the Most Likes for their picture at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, and their fandom, the ARMY, won Top Fandom Community.

K-Pop Group EXO Featured in 'Guinness World Records 2018'!

EXO fans have yet another reason to celebrate their favorite boy band this year: the Korean pop group is included in the latest edition of Guinness World Records.

Upon the release of Guinness World Records 2018: Meet our Real-Life Superheroes on Monday (August 29), fans of the “Ko Ko Bop” troupe quickly noticed that EXO was honored for matching BIGBANG‘s record for Most Daesang Awards Won at the Mnet Asia Music Awards.

“At the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards, boy band EXO won Album of the Year for EX’ACT. It was their fifth daesang (“grand prize”) at the annual awards ceremony, following previous Albums of the Year in 2013-15 and Artist of the Year in 2014. They matched the feat of BIGBANG, who won Song of the Year in 2007 and 2015 and Artist of the Year in 2008, 2012 and 2015,” the award reads.

The group’s latest album, The War, dropped in July.
