If Midnights was released one year earlier, Lana Del Rey would be walking away as a Grammy winner for Album of the Year, but she’s not because of a recent rule change.

Taylor Swift won the coveted Album of the Year award at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 4) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Fans were confused why Taylor brought Lana on stage with her when her friend has just lost the award for her own album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.

As most Taylor fans likely know, Lana is featured on the song “Snow on the Beach” on Midnights. In previous years, featured artists on a Grammy-winning Album of the Year album also were named recipients of the award. That all changed in 2024.

The Swifties are once again showing off their detective skills.

Recently, Taylor Swift fans noticed that a mystery songwriter appears alongside the 33-year-old entertainer and Jack Antonoff on her song “You’re Losing Me,” one of her “From the Vault” tracks from her album Midnights.

“Spiral Alice” was also credited for helping the dynamic duo write the song. However, fans were quick to notice that the name only appeared on the credits on Apple Music and not on Spotify.

At midnight on Friday (January 27), the 33-year-old entertainer debuted the music video for “Lavender Haze,” the latest single off of her album Midnights.

At the strike of midnight on Tuesday (October 25), the 32-year-old entertainer released the Cinderella-themed music video for her song “Bejeweled” – and the video features TONS of celeb cameos!

Taylor Swift‘s new album Midnights has officially been available for a full day and now the first sales projections for her debut week have been published.

Only 20 albums have sold more than one million copies in their first week of sales and Taylor holds four of thespots on the record charts.

Taylor‘s 1989 sold 1.287 million units in 2014, Reputation sold 1.216 million units in 2017, Red sold 1.208 million units in 2012, and Speak Now sold 1.047 million units in 2010. These numbers are all just for the first week of sales!

2019′s Lover, 2020′s Folklore, and 2021′s Evermore all had huge starts, but missed the one million mark. They launched with 867,000 units, 846,000 units, and 329,000 units respectively.

Eagle-eyed fans believe that Taylor revealed her anniversary with long-time boyfriend Joe Alwyn is on October 21, which happens to be TODAY, the release date of her new album.
