Soap Star Marla Adams, Best Known for 'Young and the Restless,' Dies at 85

Marla Adams, a soap opera star best known for her role on The Young and the Restless, has sadly passed away.

Matt Kane, the director of media and talent for The Young and the Restless, shared the news that Marla died on Thursday (April 25). She was 85. A cause of death has not been revealed.

What all went down this week? Let’s start with the happy news: A longtime couple who met on the set of a soap opera celebrated a huge anniversary. We also got news of a huge family reunion that will take place onscreen for the first time in decades.

A few other soap opera returns have been confirmed, and one actor weighed in on reprising their role in a recently announced revival!

There’s also been some sad news. One star revealed the airdate of their final episode, and it was confirmed that another actor was not coming back from what was originally described as a leave of absence.

What all went down? This week a popular actor revealed a skill that his “miracle” daughter is learning at a very young age.

In terms of casting, The Young and the Restless has recruited a legacy soap star for a new character arc that’s premiering just around the corner. There was an update about a General Hospital star who has been taking some time off to work on their health.

The 2024 Daytime Emmys are coming up!

The upcoming awards celebrate and recognize “outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts since 1974, honoring work in a variety of categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, culinary and legal/courtroom programs.”

Ahead of the full list of this year’s nominations on Friday (April 19), the noms in four categories have already been announced, including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series and Outstanding Daytime Talk Host!

'Young and the Restless' Star Eric Braeden Shares Health Update Nearly One Year After Revealing He's 'Cancer-Free'

Eric Braeden is updating fans on his health.

In April 2023, the 83-year-old actor, who has been playing Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless since 1980, revealed that he was diagnosed with bladder cancer.

Four months later in August, he announced that he was “cancer-free” after undergoing treatment.

In a recent interview, Eric shared an update on how health and how he’s feeling these days.
