Dominique Fishback to Star Opposite Anthony Ramos in Upcoming 'Transformers' Movie

Dominique Fishback is joining the cast of Transformers!

The 30-year-old Judas and the Black Messiah actress is in final negotiations to star alongside In the HeightsAnthony Ramos in the upcoming installment in the franchise, per Deadline.

According to the outlet, Anthony screen-tested with a number of actresses and Dominique won over the team involved. The pair have been close friends for a number of years and actually worked on a play together in college!

The film is set to be directed by Steven Caple Jr., known for his work on 2018′s Creed II, and is expected to premiere in June 2022.

Paramount is also working on a new animated Transformers prequel directed by Josh Cooley with a script co-written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari.

In the Heights' Anthony Ramos in Negotiations to Star in 'Transformers' Movie!

The Transformers film franchise has found its next leading man: Anthony Ramos!

The 29-year-old actor is reportedly in final negotiations to star in a Transformers movie for Paramount, eOne and Hasbro, Deadline reports. The film will be directed by Steven Caple Jr.

If don’t recognize Anthony’s face, you will in a couple of months! Anthony is the star of In the Heights, the upcoming movie musical from Lin-Manuel Miranda. Anthony plays the title role in the film, which has the following synopsis: “Lights up on Washington Heights…The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is the likeable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi (Ramos), who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.”

The film will hit HBO Max and theaters on June 11.

Upcoming 'Transformers' Movie Gets 2022 Release Date

Paramount Pictures has announced the release date for an upcoming Transformers movie!

The studio announced that the latest installment in the sci-fi franchise will be released on June 24, 2022, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Paramount currently has two Transformers projects in the works: screenwriters Joby Harold and James Vanderbilt are both writing separate scripts for two upcoming projects. As of right now, it has been revealed which project will be released in 2022.

The studio is already working on an animated Transformers prequel directed by Josh Cooley with a script co-written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari.

'Transformers' Actress Sophia Myles Reveals Her Dad Died of Coronavirus

Sophia Myles‘ father, Peter, has sadly died due to coronavirus.

The 40-year-old TTransformers: Age of Extinction and Doctor Who actress revealed the sad news on Saturday (March 21) in an update on her social media.

Her father, who had been suffering from Parkinson’s Disease, passed away at the age of 67 in the hospital of COVID-19.

“RIP Peter Myles. My dear Dad died only a few hours ago. It was the Corona Virus that finally took him,” she wrote on Twitter. Hours before, she shared a photo visiting him bedside at the hospital.

“Yesterday I went on a journey to see my father. This is the harsh reality of the Coronavirus,” she wrote.

Our thoughts are with Sophia and her family at this difficult time.

Transformers' Laura Haddock & Isabela Moner Glam Up for Tokyo Premiere!

Laura Haddock and Isabela Moner walk the red carpet at the Japanese premiere of Transformers: The Last Knight on Thursday (July 20) at Toho Cinemas Shinjuku in Tokyo, Japan.

The ladies were joined at the event by Japanese actress Hinako Sakurai.

'Transformers' Spinoff 'Bumblebee' Rounds Out Young Cast

The upcoming Transformers spinoff Bumblebee is coming together.

According to THR, Paramount just cast a bunch of young actors, including Diary of a Wimpy Kid‘s Jason Drucker, Landline‘s Abby Quinn, Rio 2‘s Rachel Crow, Degrassi: Next Class‘s Ricardo Hoyos, and Zoo actress Gracie Dzienny.

In case you’re not familiar with the franchise, Bumblebee is the black and yellow Autobot in the other movies.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, sources tell the mag that it will be a prequel focused on Bumblebee’s life in the 80s.

The film will also star Hailee Steinfeld and Jorge Lendeborg Jr.

Jorge Lendeborg Jr. has landed the lead male role in the upcoming Transformers spin-off focusing on the character Bumblebee!

The young actor can currently be seen in a small role in Spider-Man: Homecoming and he has a role in next year’s Alita: Battle Angel.

The plot of the upcoming film is not yet know, but Hailee Steinfeld is set to play “a tomboy who also holds a job as a mechanic after school,” according to THR.

The movie will reportedly be a prequel to the Transformers franchise.
